The RYFA Board has made the difficult decision to cancel the fall football season this year. There will NOT be RYFA Tackle or Flag Football in Fall 2020. The Board would like to play football this year, but felt the current status of the COVID-19 Pandemic makes it unsafe for the players, coaches and families.
The Minnesota Department of Health has deemed football as a "high-risk" sport for COVID-19 and the RYFA Board decided to follow the lead of the MN State High School League and many colleges (RCTC, UM, etc.) and will not play this year.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused; and we appreciate your patience with RYFA while we made our final decision. Any payments you have made for Flag of Tackle football will be refunded. If you applied for financial aid assistance your application will be inactivated.
We had opened registration and recruited sponsors with the hope that we would have a fall season; but the current COVID-19 climate makes it unsafe. Let's hope for a better 2021 and we hope to see you next year!
Registration is now open for Fall Tackle Football. Tackle Football in 2020 will be offered for 3rd - 6th Grade.
Teams will be assigned by neighborhood if you are registered on time. Registrations made on/before August 7th will be placed on their neighborhood team. Registrations received on/after August 8th will be placed on their neighborhood team based upon the roster size of the team closest to you. Register early to ensure team placement in your part of town.
Registrations will be accepted up until August 18th. After August 18th, registrations will only be accepted based upon availability.
Questions regarding payments or registrations should be emailed to email@example.com.
Team districts (areas) will be assigned by League Directors. Team districts shall be established after all registered players have been plotted on the league player map. No player shall be permitted to practice until assigned to a team. Registrations will only be accepted after August 18th based upon availability. Players that submit late registrations (after August 18th) will be assigned to a team based on team player needs.
Players whose parent is a Head Coach may play within their assigned resident district, or the district in which their parent is a Head Coach. This exception will be granted for Head Coaches ONLY.
A change of address during the season does not impact a players team assignment.
Players will be notified with team information (coaches contact, practice location, times, etc.) Parents/players will be notified via e-mail or phone.
