RYFA Flag Football aims to provide a fun, age-appropriate, learning environment where kids can play non-contact football, regardless of skill level. While the focus will be on the passing elements of the game (QB/C exchange, proper route running, proper throwing form, pass defense, and timing), the goal of the program is to give all kids a chance to throw and catch the ball, regardless of positions they may play in the fall program.
RYFA's program is affiliated with the NFL Flag program. It is open to all boys and girls from Kindergarten through 8th grades.
Registration and full details for this program will be available in mid-January 2026. Watch your email and Facebook for the announcement.

Spring Flag Football league is held on Sunday afternoons. (No football is held on Memorial Weekend) These are the TENTATIVE dates for the 2026 Spring Flag Football Season:
Spring weather can be unpredictable, that's why we always schedule one extra Sunday into the RYFA flag football schedule. If one session is cancelled, the session will not be made up. If more than one session is cancelled, we will hold a make-up session for those additional cancelled sessions.
All games will be played on Sunday afternoons. Games will be held at the RYFA Complex or at MLK Park (near the RYFA Fields).
The finalized times for the 2025 schedule are listed below. The 2026 times will not be announced until registration closes since field assignments are based on our final registration numbers. Please keep in mind that there could be additional practice times for our competitive league teams. Those practice times are determined by the team's coaches.
LAST SEASON - 2025 PROGRAM TIMES (2026 is TBD!)
Team assignments and schedule information will be available once registration closes and the teams have been rostered.
For our recreational league teams, there will be a short practice before Sunday games. No additional practices will be held outside of your scheduled Sunday session.
Teams in our competitive league may have additional practices outside of the Sunday game times if the coach chooses to do so.
The flags and jerseys will be provided by RYFA. Participants should wear athletic shoes or cleats and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated on game day.
Registration for 2026 Spring Flag will open in mid-January!
If you would like to coach Spring Flag Football for the 2026 season you must fill out the Coach Application. You do not need to have a child in the league to coach. High School kids are great flag football coaches, too!
Competitive Coaches must have a background check on file within the last year. If you are unsure as to if your background check is still valid, please email ryfa1958@gmail.com to double check.
If you are worried about the cost associated with our football program; financial aid is available for families that currently receive free/reduced lunch. If you have experienced hardship and do not qualify for the free/reduced lunch program you may still qualify for a reduced program fee by sending us a letter explaining your situation. Applications for spring financial aid will open when registration opens at the end of January. Learn more at this link...
